Purposes of Qualification:
The purposes of the Diploma of Management are to allow students deliver the requirements of a business, the employability of an individual.
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who are engaged to manage the work of others or to review management practices. The BSB51107 Diploma of Management will assist in building a sound theoretical knowledge base and managerial competency to plan, carry out and evaluate own work and/or work of a team.
Course Description
During this course, students will develop skills and knowledge needed to operate effectively as a manager. This course will develop skills and knowledge in ensuring a safe workplace, recruiting, selecting and inducting staff, managing a budget and financial plan, managing quality customer service, managing people performance, establishing and adjusting marketing mix, developing workplace policies and procedures for sustainability, managing risk. The Diploma of Management also provides an exit point for those not wishing to complete the Advanced Diploma of Management.

●This qualification is designed for both overseas and local students seeking a career in management / business. ●Learners wishing to build upon BSB40207 Certificate IV in Business and who wish to expand their skill set. More precisely, this course is targeted at those learners who are wishing to upgrade their existing skills to be able to effectively work in a supervisory/managerial role. ●In addition, this qualification reflects the role of individuals who are engaged to manage the work of others or to add value to or review management experience. ●This qualification is also suited to the needs of individuals with little or no vocational experience but who possess sound theoretical knowledge and managerial competency. ●The medium of instruction at Australian Nationwide College is English.
Entry Requirements
In order to gain entry into this course, the potential student must: ● Be 18 years of age or over ● Have satisfactorily completed the Australian Year 12 (or equivalent), and ● Have an IELTS band score of 5.5 or TOEFL 500 or equivalent.
Course Delivery
The course is delivered over 26 weeks per year. It includes 20 weeks of tuition and 6 weeks of term break. 20 weeks include 4 blocks, each with a teaching period of 5 weeks. Students will have face-to-face tuition for a minimum of 20 hours per week (not self paced or part time). Delivery of this qualification combines face-to-face trainer led theory classes, practical sessions involving small groups, individual and team activities, practical demonstration, and role play.
Assessments
The theoretical components of each unit of competency are class room based, whilst the practical components are delivered through observation and practical demonstration. Each unit of competency involves assessment tasks conducted in a range of contexts. Such assessment tasks include case studies of critical incidents, practical demonstrations, individual projects, report writing, portfolios of evidence, closed book exams, role plays, and oral presentations.

Upon completion of the Diploma of Management, students will be able to find employment in relation to job roles including:

After achieving BSB51107 Diploma of Management, students may undertake BSB60407 Advanced Diploma of Management or a range of other Advanced Diploma qualifications.

Recognition of Prior Learning & Recognition of Current Competency
RPL is the assessment process for recognizing competencies gained through previous learning, work and life experiences.
Students can apply for Recognition of Prior learning (RPL) /Recognition of Current Competency (RCC) before their enrolment. In order to be granted for RPL, students will need to provide evidence that they are already competent in this/these specific unit or units and this evidences must be valid, authentic, current and sufficient.
