Purposes of Qualification
This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of contexts. They apply solutions to defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyze and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.
Course Description
The purpose of this qualification is to ensure graduates acquire the skills which are common across many small business roles. This course provides competencies in establishing networks, developing teams and individuals, coordinating business resources, coordinating implementation of customer service strategies, promoting innovation in a team environment, implementing and monitoring environmentally sustainable work practices, maintaining financial records, promoting team effectiveness, establishing effective workplace relationships and monitoring a safe workplace

This qualification is designed for both overseas and local students seeking a career in management / business.

They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.The medium of instruction at Australian Nationwide College is English.
Entry Requirements
In order to gain entry into this course, the potential student must: ● Be 18 years of age or over ● Have satisfactorily completed year the Australian 11 (or equivalent), and ● Have an IELTS band score of 5.5 or TOEFL 500 or equivalent
Course Delivery
The course is delivered over 26 weeks per year. It includes 5 weeks of tuition and 6 weeks of term break. 5 weeks include 4 blocks, each with teaching period of 5 weeks. Students have face-to-face tuition of a minimum of 5 hours per week (not self paced or part time).
The medium of instruction at Wentworth Institute is English. Delivery of this qualification combines face-to-face trainer led theory classes, practical sessions involving small groups, individual and team activities, practical demonstration, role play.
Assessments
The theoretical components of each unit of competency are class room based, face-to-face training whilst the practical components are delivered through observation and practical demonstrations. Each unit of competency involves assessment tasks conducted in a range of contexts. Such assessment tasks include case studies of critical incident, practical demonstrations, individual projects, report writing, portfolios of evidence, closed book exams, role plays, and oral presentations.

Upon completion of Certificate IV in Business, students will be able to find employment in relation to job roles including: ● Administrators ● Project Officers ● Customer Service Advisors ● Office Administration Assistants ● Student Service Officers
After achieving BSB40507 Certificate IV in Business, students may continue to study the Diploma of Management at Wentworth Institute.

Certificate IV in Business is accredited by Vocational Education & Training Accreditation Board (VETAB). This can be viewed at www.vetab.nsw.gov.au.

Recognition of Prior Learning & Recognition of Current Competency
RPL is the assessment process for recognizing competencies gained through previous learning, work and life experiences.
Students can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)/ Recognition of Current Competency (RCC) before their enrollment. In order to be granted for RPL, students will need to provide evidence that they are already competent in this/these units and this evidence must be valid, authentic, current and sufficient.
