The purpose of Diploma of Business Management in Business Services is to meet the needs of businesses that require a qualification providing broad accounting skills and knowledge for persons typically employed as Assistant Accountant, Office Managers, Administration Managers and Budget Officers. The course also helps participants to understand frontline management, E-Business and business process networking. The Diploma of Business Management also provides an exit point for those not wishing to complete the Advanced Diploma of Business Management.
In order to gain entry into this course, potential students must demonstrate completion of year12 or equivalent and have a minimum English level at IELTS 5.5 or equivalent. Students enrolling in this vocational course must be over 18 years of age.
The course is delivered over 26 weeks with 20 weeks face to face delivery.
The 20 weeks includes 4 blocks of teaching for 5 weeks. Every week, a
student has 20 hours of class.
Delivery is at the ANC site with face to face training in a classroom or in a
computer lab. Training may include lectures, presentations, student demonstrations,
exercises, group work, projects, research, site visits or guest
lectures.
Each subject will involve assessment tasks conducted through a variety of strategies: including case studies, take home research assignments, demonstrations, projects, case studies, exercises, presentations and tests.
This course is designed to enable students to develop the skills and knowledge that are essential in today’s challenging business world. Students will acquire an innovative and entrepreneurial approach to the management of people and organisations. This course will enable students to make confident business decisions, adapt to change and keep up with the evolving business world. Students successfully finishing the Diploma course can seek employment as a small business manager, human resource administrator, marketing assistant and office management personnel or gain entry points to the Advanced Diploma.
This course is designed for students wishing to enter employment as a Small Business manager, Human Resource Administrator, Marketing Assistant and Office Management Personnel or enter into Advanced Diploma and University Higher Education.
Diploma of Business Management is registered by Australian Recognition Authority, Vocational Education & Training Accreditation Board (VETAB). This can be viewed in www.vetab.nsw.edu.au.

Successful completion of the Diploma may assist the student in gaining entry to undergraduate university courses. It will also allow a student to enrol in the Advanced Diploma of Business Management (BSB60201).
The student can request Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) when student enrols in the course or during study induction. Student could receive credit towards their course based on their knowledge and skills gained through previous study, other formal or informal training, and work and/or life experiences.
