Accounting is the study of how to record, analyse, interpret on report on the financial health of small to large organisations. All business organisations small or large, require professional accountants to perform accounting functions and deliver efficient results within the organisation. Through an excellent combination of conventional theory learning and practical industry experience, this course is specifically designed to help students gain the necessaryskills required to pursue a career in today’s fast moving corporate business environment. Successful completion of the Diploma of Accounting allows access to the Advanced Diploma of Accounting, Bachelor of Accounting and further to a CPA and CA. This qualification is designed to assist employees to perform duties such as: introducing and maintaining accounting systems, maintaining internal control systems, preparing financial statements for a reporting entity, preparing tax returns, reporting on business performance, managing small teams, developing business plans and preparing management accounting reports.
In order to gain entry into this course, potential students must demonstrate completion of year12 or equivalent and have a minimum English level at IELTS 5.5 or equivalent. Students enrolling in this vocational course must be over 18 years of age.
The course is delivered over 52 weeks with 40 weeks face to face delivery. The 40 weeks includes 8 blocks, each with teaching period of 5 weeks. Each week, students have 20 hours of class.
Delivery is conducted in English at the ANC site through face to face training in the classroom or in a computer lab. Training may include training sessions, presentations, student demonstrations, exercises, group work, projects, research, site visits and guest speakers.
Each subject will involve assessment tasks (unless otherwise required by the subject) conducted through a variety of strategies including formal exams, take home research assignments, demonstrations, projects, case studies and exercises.
The Diploma of Accounting is designed for students with little accounting knowledge, people returning to the workforce and seeking a formal qualification, people who want to extend their career path options and people currently in the workforce who want to upgrade their skills or have existing skills recognized. This qualification is designed to reflect the role of employees working in accounting who perform duties such as:
The Diploma of Accounting is designed for students wishing to be employed as assistant accountants, office managers, administration managers, accountants, budget officers, accounts receivable officers, accounts payable officers, tax clerks, audit clerks, MYOB officers, and financial controllers or enter into the Advanced Diploma of Accounting or Bachelor of Accounting.
Upon successful completion of your course you will receive a nationally recognized Diploma of Accounting(FNS50204).
ANC is also a financial member of the Australian Council for Private Education and Training (ACPET) which protects students.
Successful completion of the Diploma may render the student eligible for exemption in an appropriate undergraduate University Course.

Students can request Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Students could receive credit towards their course based on their knowledge and skills gained through previous study, other formal or informal training, and work and/or life experiences.
